i'm always trying to remember one of these terms.

lot of good list ideas here
Things I have been doing besides blogging:
- Crocheting nothing. This is also known as crocheting whole skeins of yarn, multiple times, then pulling it out and starting over. It's the act that is calming, not the result.
- Painting. I found some biggish sized, already painted canvases at a church sale and snagged all 3 for $1. Came home, pulled out my acrylics and had a little paint-fest. It was really great. I think I might just paint over them again and again. Again with the act, not the result.
- Reading. But that's an always thing.
- Playing video games. I picked up Hunter the Reckoning: Wayward for $5, hoping Y would like it, since it's a rare co-op game. But one of our controllers is borked, so I killed Zombies all by myself. And I didn't do half bad! *beams*
Things I will be doing besides blogging in the future:
- Cake decorating classes. Starts on Tuesday. Once a week for six weeks. Yay icing flowers.
- Needlepoint. I never could find my loop, so I bought another one. I assume I'll find my other tomorrow.
- Planning Thanksgiving dinner. i'm hosting this year for my brother, parents and grandparents. I'm not so much intimidated, as under-prepared. And two weeks doesn't leave much time for rectification.
Overall, Mel and I decided that blogging is somewhat meh-ish. It's different now, for good or bad. I like having a blog, I just don't love updating it. But sometimes it's nice to have a place to put these things that I want to ramble about.
Random thought: If they can run cable lines and phone lines to our individual houses, why can't they do the little bank tubes - and then we could order a banana, or ice cream, or a chocolate bar online and some magic robot arm would drop it in, press the button and zippity-do-do, i have dessert!

lots of great ideas here. i need to get started!
My brother has been saving and working and planning on moving to Houston to live nearer to his son. He finally got things all together and drove down on Wednesday morning and made it down in time to take his son trick-or-treating.
Yesterday morning, on his way to meet with a guy about a job, he wrecked (not quite totaled, but pretty badly damaged) his car. He's fine and it could have been a lot worse, but it's just one of those random, crappy things. But, my poor brother has the worst luck. It makes me heart ache.
He's currently on a Greyhound bus on his way home to regroup. :\
